Overview
Cyclometricus is a juried exhibition designed to promote and bring Northwest artists together for a challenging oportunity.
Cyclometricus will feature an exhibition by participating artists to thoughtfully try to figure out if a circle can be squared. This impossible feat known as "quadrature" entices with the challenges of circles and squares dancing around in an infinity of madness.
The Challenge
I. Try to construct a square with the area of any given circle, or describe in your work how this idea can never be accomplished.
II. Use any means, medium that you will, or would like to use, including sculpture, paint, photography, video, computer graphics, even literature...
III. There must be an obvious attempt to solve the problem of quadrature. And most importantly remember to have fun, or drive yourself insane.
